A stoma (colostomy or ileostomy) is an opening made during surgery. It connects the bowel to the surface of the tummy. From time-to-time stoma patients may experience stoma problems. Most of these issues are not serious and can be resolved relatively quickly. Having the knowledge on the common complications associated with having a stoma can save and promote quality of life in the commnity.
