Stoma Care

A stoma (colostomy or ileostomy) is an opening made during surgery. It connects the bowel to the surface of the tummy. From time-to-time stoma patients may experience stoma problems. Most of these issues are not serious and can be resolved relatively quickly. Having the knowledge on the common complications associated with having a stoma can save and promote quality of life in the commnity. For each of these topics below, we will also cover how to prevent these common stoma problems and importantly, what you should do if you experience them.
